The Illinois Dental Hygienists' Association (IDHA) is the professional organization representing dental hygienists in the state of Illinois. The IDHA has been hard at work securing your profession and being your voice in the legislative arena. Hygienists and dental hygiene students from all over the state of Illinois gather together for a special weekend called Annual Session. Mark this date! IDHA Annual Session is October 1-3, 2010 at the IFT Offices in Westmont, IL (next to Oakbrook). All ADHA members are welcome to attend. This year’s annual session includes approval to the IDHA Bylaws and Policies changes, dental hygiene students get a taste of Roberts Rules of Order, scholarships are awarded to dental hygiene students, recognition is given to dental hygiene volunteers, dental hygiene educators discuss their different programs, vendors visit to demonstrate and distribute new products, and everyday dental hygienists get to discuss their challenges and successes of their careers.
North Suburban Dental Hygienists’ Society (NSDHS) would like to recognize this year’s NSDHS delegation to the IDHA annual session. Let us thank our delegates (7), alternates (5), co-trustee, and trustee: Cristina Bordabeheres, Sonia Kerr, Bonnie Lyons, Trish De Dios, Jenny Rush, Roxana Batea, Kathy Barnum, Carolyne Bednar, Katie Paulson, Erin Peters, Brooke Bell, Melissa Salzmann, and Gina Strelecki for taking a weekend out of their busy schedules and dedicating it to the health of their dental hygiene profession.
Everyone can participate by donating a gift for the 2010 North Suburban Delegation Silent Auction. The funds raised are to financially support the NSDHS delegation to the October 2010 IDHA Annual Session in Westmont, IL. Examples of donation items are jewelry, wine baskets, and coffee baskets; basically anything that may appeal to dental professionals. The Silent auction is scheduled during our next NSDHS CEU seminar at Bristol court on September 15th. Cash and checks will be accepted. Hope to see everyone there!
