About the Speaker:
Dianne Testa is a Registered Dental Assistant, Registered Dental Hygienist and received her BS in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota.
Dianne’s background includes: clinical practice, director of a dental hygiene program, clinical instructor, educator, public speaker, and consultant. She has been in dentistry for 30+ years. She is currently the MI Specialist for GC America.
Dianne has been published in the Illinois Dental News on her work in infection control and in Practical Dental Hygiene on her work with enzyme suppressing drugs used in periodontal therapy
Course Description:
This course will give the hygienist a deeper knowledge of how systemic diseases and drug interaction play a part of our daily patient care. You will learn about the role of saliva in keeping teeth healthy. Information will be presented about healthy and sick saliva. Your understanding of this knowledge will give you great insight about “a new look at decay”. At the completion of this course, you will be able to deliver the appropriate decay prevention adjuncts for you patients. Learn how medical histories will help guide you in your treatment decisions. Understand the interaction of cancers and osteonecrosis of the jaw. This program is a must for the hygienist of the “New Dental/Medical Model”
