We have new board members to welcome aboard for our next season. Jodi Majewski is taking the Ways and Means chair position, Jackie Spierowski (2010 Harper Grad) will now be our Student Relations Chair, and Melissa Salzmann is the Co-Component Trustee along with veteran Gina Strelecki. New positions for our existing board members include Alison Kozak switching over to be our Public Relations and Advertisement Chair, Ashley Angelo (who came in at the end of last season) continuing as Co Chair of Community Service, Jill Gauss voted to return as recording secretary, and mostly importantly, Debbie Owens who will now be our Vice President in charge of speakers and sponsors. There is a great mixture of experienced RDHs on this board. I can’t wait to work with all of them. Check out the whole board by clicking on “Board Contact Information.”
As far as delegates and alternates, there will be a few new faces here as well. I for one have never had the opportunity to be a delegate until now. I was voted in for a 1 year term. I am looking forward to learning more about the backbone of Illinois dental hygiene along with our veteran delegates and new alternates, Felicia Aquinaga, Carolyne Bednar, Katie Paulson and Erin Peters.
We are very proud of the Harper 2010 Graduates. See Jackie’s message under “Students and New Grads” for more details. It was so great having all of this class present at our May component seminar. It is such a wonderful time in your life when you accomplish what you had set out to do. In my own family, my oldest son, Andrew has just graduated from college. He like you is job hunting although his field is finance. I realize the state of the economy is influencing every occupation. Graduates don’t give up. Be a go getter!! You will succeed!
